The structure principle of the globe valve:

The main opening and closing components of a globe valve are the valve clack and the valve seat. The valve clack moves along the center line of the valve seat to change the distance between the valve clack and the valve seat, thereby changing the cross-sectional area of the flow passage, thereby achieving flow control and interception.

The globe valve is a forced sealing valve, so when the valve is closed, pressure must be applied to the disc so that the sealing surface will not leak. When the medium enters the valve from under the disc, the required operating force to overcome the resistance is the thrust generated by the friction between the valve stem and the packing and the pressure of the medium. The force to close the valve is greater than the force to open the valve, so the valve stem The diameter of the valve must be large, otherwise the valve stem will bend failure.

The reason why the globe valve is popular is that when opening and closing, the friction between the sealing surfaces is small, it is relatively durable, the opening height is not large, the manufacture is easy, and the maintenance is convenient. It is not only suitable for medium and low pressure, but also for high pressure. The shut-off valve only allows the medium to flow in one direction and is directional when installed. Its structural length is longer than that of the gate valve, while the fluid resistance is large, it runs for a long time, and the sealing reliability is not strong.
